Meghan Markle: The Perfect Royal Bride For Our Turbulent Times

Meghan Markle’s path to the altar has been one of the most angst-strewn in royal wedding history.

From the moment the public got its first official word of her from Kensington Palace, Markle has had everything thrown at her.

Racist taunts over her biracial background. Critiques of her fashion forward wardrobe. Ridicule of her acting career on the cable TV show Suits. Anger from animal lovers that she left an aging rescue dog behind in Canada. Upsets over her previous marriage.

And, the greed and envy of her extended family, to boot.

Any bride less determined would have run long before an engagement ring was on her finger. In fact, Prince Harry was said to have come close to marriage with previous girlfriends, who instead fled at the idea of such public scrutiny.

Rather than unite the world in blissful sighs over her beauty and his devotion, the wedding has divided royal watchers into two camps: Team Meghan and Find Somebody Else.

It’s remarkable that someone who defines the word “modern” would come under such attack.
