“I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take this any more.” That’s the famous line from Network. And it describes how a lot of women feel now.

A month after The New York Times reported its first story about Harvey Weinstein, women from a variety of workplaces are venting their anger over sexual misconduct.

Long-held grievances have been aired by restaurant employees in New Orleans and Boston. Sexual harassment stories are growing in public radio, and on oil rigs. Many more allegations have come out in Hollywood.

Some call it a “click moment,” after the book by Frans Johansson.

To me, it’s like a dam of fury has burst. And, on the first anniversary of the 2016 election, it’s legitimate to draw a dotted line from the outburst to Donald Trump.

Don’t get me wrong. Nobody files an EEOC complaint, or talks to a newspaper or NPR about what happened to them just because they are mad at the president.

However, Trump has created an atmosphere that is triggering anger on many different levels. Look at what happened during the campaign. Trump deliberately fueled all kinds of outrage among his supporters, who shouted, “Build a wall!” and “Lock her up!” at his rallies.
